Douglas A-1 Skyraider

The best prop. fighter-bomber never made.
Build between 1946 and 1957, used by USAF and US Navy, and by many air forces, mainly South Vietnamese and French air forces until 1975. Last operations in Chad, end of 70s.
Nicknamed  "Spad" after the french WWI fighter, one of the best fighters of WWI.

During Vietnam war, a new production was studied, but too expensive.

Two Skyraider for FSX are available.

De Havilland Canada C-7 Caribou

Designed and produced by de Havilland Canada, the C-7 Caribou is a military transport airplane with large STOL capabilities. It was the only cargo airplane able to provide freight to the special forces camps airstrips.


The FS9 / FSX( adaptation) from Alphasim seems to be the only FSX compatible version

Lockheed EC-121

Military version of the wonderful Lockheed Constellation, it was an airbone early  warning system, existing in many versions for USAF and US Navy. Extensively used during Vietnam war to provide support to US fighters engaging Migs.
Mainly based in Thailand.


Manfred Jahn and Team 1049 have released a very great L-1049 Super Constellation with many variants.
So, search for L-1049 and EC-121 at main FSX downloads web site. Freeware, FSX compatible
You must have a working installation of G an H Super Constellation before adding EC-121 variants.
